Once he gains the strength to free himself from his bed, Michael seeks out an exit, stumbling upon another hospital room with a body on life support. He reaches the body and sees the unthinkable - the body is himself, down to the last bodily scar.

The doctor and nurse manage to restrain and drug Michael, and when he awakens, the doctor explains the nature of his clandestine experiment. Michael is not Michael at all, but rather, Michael’s clone. He is an identical copy, but to him, the switch was seamless at "death."
